Obituary of Maneight Marguerite Beaton
BEATON, It is with sadness we announce the death of Maneight Marguerite Beaton of Inverary Manor, who died peacefully on Saturday, September 17th, 2022. Maneight was born to Rose (Kawaja) and Reginald Kennedy of Port Hawkesbury on April 11th, 1939, and was a much-loved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and neighbour. Maneight and her deeply-loved husband, Al, resided in Little Judique for more than 50 years and were a very bright part of the community. She was devoted to her nursing profession and provided compassionate care and professionalism to all those in need. She had tremendous respect for all her fellow nurses and medical doctors who were so dedicated to attending to the sick and suffering in our communities. Her years of employment at Inverary Manor were perhaps one of the greatest highlights of her nursing career. Her love and her need to ensure dignity and comfort to all residents was of the greatest priority. She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Danny) Beaton McNamara and grandson, Hugh Alexander (Lauren Vassallo); brothers, Robert (Elva) Kennedy and Johnny K. (Anne) Kennedy; sisters, Rose Marie (Grant) Walsh and Isabelle Anne (Stuart) Decoste; and sister-in-law Marie (late Buddy) MacMaster. In addition, she leaves to mourn many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly and always expressed interest in their well-being. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Al; brother-in-law John Beaton; sister-in-law Pauline and her husband Buddy MacDonald; brother-in-law Buddy MacMaster; and nephew Mark MacDonald. She was a woman of great talent and truly enjoyed sharing some wonderful selections on her piano as well as dancing a square set with Al. Sharing a cup of tea and a little treat with Maneight was one which would guarantee a smile and a little story and bring on some much-needed laughter. We offer our deepest appreciation to the staff of Inverary Manor, with special thanks to staff of Harbour Lights, for the dedication and devotion to her. It is fitting that she spent this special time with all of you at the place which she so loved. What a blessing this was for her! Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Monday, September 26th, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, Port Hood with Father Eugene Morris officiating. Burial to following in the parish cemetery. Donation in her memory can be made to Inverary Manor, Inverness. Online condolences may be made to: www.invernessfuneralhome.com
