

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Margaret MacInnis on February 23, 2015. Born on December 28, 1941, Margaret was a daughter of the late Hughie and Sadie MacInnis. Margaret is survived by her children, Susan MacInnis of Yellowknife; Kim MacInnis (Dave) of Massachusetts; Joe MacInnis (Alauna) of Ontario; Tracey MacInnis (Geno) of Yellowknife and Craig MacInnis (Kelly), Port Hood; and her dear friend and companion, Jim Mac Lean.
Margaret is also survived by her 14 grandchildren who she adored; her sisters, Tootsie MacDonald, Ellen MacDonald, Anne MacDonald (Jack), Gena Mac Intyre, Marie Campbell (Carmen),Rosie MacNeil (Sandy), Louise MacNeil (Neil), Aggie Burns and brother Brian MacInnis (Arlene). Margie was predeceased by her brother Kevin MacInnis.
Margaret was the Director of Resident Care at the Inverary Manor for thirty years. She will be dearly missed by staff and friends.
Margaret loved to hook, play scrabble, take walks and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Catholic Women's League and was instrumental in developing and sustaining The Friends of Christmas for several years, by helping families in need during the holidays.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the Inverness Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28th from 2-4, and 7-9 pm and Sunday, March 1st from 2-4and7-9pm in Port Hood Resting Place. The funeral will be held in St.Peter's Parish Church on Monday, March 2nd at 11am. with Fr. Vincent vanZutphen officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret's name to the Inverary Manor Fund (residents in need).
The family will be forever indebted to the amazing care and affection shown to Margaret while at the manor by staff. Special thanks to Lori Ann Mac Donald, Dr. Ritter, and Joan Mac Lellan
