MacEachern (Beaton, Kennedy), Mary Camillus “Millie”
Age 89, of Inverness, passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2021, in the Inverary Manor, Inverness NS.
Born July 16th, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John Alex and Mary Jane (MacDonald) Kennedy.
Spending quality time with her family was always a great joy for Millie. She was happiest spending hot summer days at the beach with her seven active children, along with many friends and their families. She loved to cook, bake and entertain family and friends. Her Christmas waffles were amazing! A wonderful recipe and tradition that has now spanned generations. Once Millie had raised her family, she pursued her hidden talent of painting, producing beautiful works of art that her family cherish. Millie was a faithful volunteer at the Inverness Tuck Shop for many years. Millie was a woman of great faith, and a lifelong member of Stella Maris Parish.
Millie is survived by daughter, Eileen Beaton, Inverness; sons, Gerard (Joanne) Beaton, Halifax; Jerome (Andrea) Beaton, Hammonds Plains; Bruce (Vina) Beaton, Cole Harbour; Gary (Susanne) Beaton Milton, Ont; daughters-in-law, Carol Beaton, Inverness, and Peggy Beaton Quispamsis, NB. She was a very loving, proud Grammie to twenty grandchildren, and three beautiful great-grandchildren. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by husband, John Ronald Beaton, second husband Dan MacEachern, sons, Ronsie Beaton and Steven Beaton. Millie was the last surviving member of her immediate family, predeceased by four brothers, Neil, Josie, Dougall, Jack, and five sisters, Katie Anne, Dolly, Mendy, Sarah, and Madeline.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Stella Maris Church, Inverness, at 11 A.M. on Saturday, January 30th, Father Danny MacLennan officiating. The current COVID 19 regulations in Nova Scotia will be in place for the Mass.
Live Stream of the Mass will be made available on the Stella Maris and St. Margaret Parish, Inverness, Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Millie can be made to Inverary Manor, Central Inverness Palliative Care Society, or a charity of your choice.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful, compassionate staff at Inverness Inverary Manor, Sunrise Villa, Dr. Rhea and staff at Inverness Memorial Hospital, and the Palliative Care Team, Dr. Ritter, Lori Anne Gillis and Paulette Levin.

Aunt Millie's house in Sleepy Hill or at the Corner was always a place for a drink of water or something coming from the oven. Lots of kids around to tend to yet she always looked dressed up, Eileen Anita mentioned she kept this up till she passed, forever a Lady. Saddened to hear of her passing, comforting to know the gang is waiting for her with the tea pot on. Love You Millie

Sincere condolences to Eileen, Gerard, Jerome Bruce, Gary and all family. Growing up at the Corner I have wonderful memories of Millie. I was, am and always will be best friends with Millie’s firstborn and only daughter Eileen. I remember her cooking in her kitchen for her large family, how she was always beautifully dressed, never a hair out of place even as she toiled and her beautiful smile😊 She was a woman who gave so much and never asked for anything in return. I imagine her being
welcomed into Heaven, reunited with those gone before her and saying ‘I made it, I’m Home, my work is done’. Rest In Peace Millie, you will be missed.

Growing up at the Corner I have wonderful memories of Millie. I was, am and always will be best friends with her first born and only daughter Eileen, the oldest of 7 children. I remember going into their home, always being welcomed, watching Millie at the stove cooking for her children, watching her interact with her siblings when they dropped by, Funtime at the Corner beach with her crew. As a child, I remember how beautifully coifed she was, not a hair out of place, looking so well dressed even as she worked in the kitchen. She gave much and asked for little in return, a woman of faith and humility. I have no doubt that she is welcomed with open arms into Heaven, reunited with those gone before her and joyfully saying ‘I made it, I’m home, my work is done’. Rest In Peace Millie, you will be missed ❤️🙏

Dear Eileen, Gerard, Jerome, Bruce, Gary, your spouses and your families,
Sending sincere condolences and love. Your Mom loved to laugh and shared a funny story like no one else could. When I was a teen, she helped me learn a most important life skill - how to laugh at myself.
Rest In Peace, dear Aunt Millie. Though your beautiful photo brought me tears, it also reminded me of how beautiful you were, both inside and out. You will be forever loved and missed.
Thank you also for making sure you had raisin pie for my first few teas at your welcoming table when I’d come home from university.❤️

My condolences to all Milly’s loved ones . I have memories of Milly at the Corner and as kids we always knew she was there for us as a neighbour and because of her positive and generous maternal nature.
Milly used to give Gerardie and I Pantry Cookies with jam when all the other playmates were off to school. Small memory maybe to some, but I knew she treated me like family when I played with her own children. Thank you, Milly
Prayers and love your way. ❤️🙏

Dear Eileen and all the family: Evelyn and I were saddened to learn of Millie's recent passing and send along our sympathy and condolences to all of you, with recollections of all the memories from the 'Corner' to 'Daley Rd. In New Victoria'...She was an extremely intelligent and witty person with a wicked sense of humour who was a caring and loving person. As the 'end' of her long life she leaves a legacy in all of you to carry on...like all of the 'now ' generation of Kennedy/MacDonald lineage it is our responsibility to carry on the Traditions and character traits they passed on to us which because of their strict attention to moulding us when growing up as to what was right and what was wrong and preparing us for our lives,we should do ok.The Kennedy clan streak of stubbornness and determination won't hurt either....as we all know.As we were growing up we probablly didn't agree or realize the importance of their discipline but became cleared with age and when the next generation was then 'in our hands'...with Love and affection to all and the awakening of all those great 'clan' memories..Mom & Millie as very fine Highland dancers for years in the Kennedy kitchens to church picnic concerts where they displayed their skills has its own memories,as one of the Clan Pipers i send along a 'silent tribute to their memory' with the Piper Lament "Flowers of the Forrest"..
Love ❤️

Jerome and family, deepest condolences on the passing of your mother. Jerome told me many humble stories about Mary, what a caring and family oriented lady she was and how much she cared about her community and friends. Although I never met her, basing the kindness, generosity, and work ethics of Jerome, I feel like I met her many times thought Jerome's actions and words.
