Florence was born to Margaret and Emmit Burke in Inverness on September 21st, 1949. She was one of 6 children.
Florence is survived by her loving Son, David Burke; her brother, John Burke (Lucy); and many other nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents Margaret and Emmit Burke; and her brothers Lawrence Burke (Muriel), Daniel Burke, Vincent Burke and Ronnie Burke.
Florence was a kind hearted friend, a supportive sister, and a loving daughter to her mother, Margaret; but her most important role of all, was being a devoted mother to her son, David. She took pride in all of David's accomplishments and he was her beacon of strength while overcoming multiple battles with cancer throughout her life.
Florence found happiness in spending time with David. She was always willing to have a nice conversation with anyone she ran into. With her keen sense of humor, she was known to leave a smile on the face of everyone she met. Florence will be missed by everyone who knew her.
A private burial has taken place and a service will be held at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Inverness Memorial Hospital.
