Neilena Mary Campbell,

It is with great sorrow and love that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Neilena Mary "Nin" Campbell on Saturday, March 21, 2020.

Neilena "Nin" was surrounded by her loving family, and her earth angel family, the loving, caring, compassionate staff of Oceanview Villa in Inverary Manor where she resided.

Nin was born in Inverness on May 25, 1923, the youngest child of Catherine Sarah (Nee MacKinnon) and James J. MacDonnell. Nin is survived by her daughters, Wilma Fontaine, (John R.) and Geraldine Campbell; sons, Bert (Margaret), Wayne (Bernice), Titus (Carol Ann) and Jeffrey; grandchildren, Melanie Robinson (John), Jamie Fontaine, George Campbell (Carrie), Mary Anne Foerster (Grant), Erin MacLean (Mark), Leslie Cormier (Phil), Kyle Campbell, Dwayne Campbell (Cheryl), Brittany Ring (Matt), Vanessa MacKinnon, Jema Campbell, Tiffany Campbell; step-grandchildren, Heather MacLeod, Ian MacIsaac and her adopted granddaughter, Sylviann Poulin; great-grandchildren, Avery and Savannah Robinson, Cheyenne and Keltin Campbell, Maren and Ethan Foerster, Drew and Levi MacLean, Tyler, Zoie and Kennedy Cormier. She is also survived by her earth angels, Johnena MacLean, Catherine Anne MacLean, Lori Aylward, Celeste Timmons, Ashley Timmons, Angela Beaton, Jayne Beaton, Charlene Gillis, Leah Stewart, Amy Smith, Susan Miller, Colyn MacLellan, Joan MacDonald, Hazel MacLellan, Susanna MacIsaac, Penny Gillis, Glenn Brown, Rachael Beaton, Bernice MacNeil, Theresa Smith, Norma MacKinnon and Lara Hawley.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John William "Willie" 1995; infant daughter, Mary; sisters, Florence, Annie Mae; brothers, Neil, Archie, Joe, John Angus, Hector and Hughie Angus, and many nieces and nephews.

Mom had a great love for the Scottish music, bag pipes, and dance. She was well-known for saying "It's a waste of good music if your not dancing" and how she loved to dance.

Mom was very much a social butterfly. At her time at the manor, she enjoyed playing bingo, cards and find the ace, as well as enjoying the numerous social events throughout the years,

She loved having friends and family in her home where she enjoyed very spirited card games and especially loved it when she and our aunts would beat Dad and his brothers. She always made sure there was always a good, hot cup of tea with a tasty lunch where you could always find her delicious biscuits, Rice Krispie balls, chocolate balls and award winning apple pie. Her motto was always, " don't ask them if they want a cup of tea, just make it".

Mom carried a deep devotion to her faith and the Holy Mass which was always very comforting to her.

Mom's funeral and burial will take place at a later date. Funeral services are under the direction of the Inverness Funeral Home. Those wishing to donate in Mom's memory can do so to the Inverary Manor, Stella Maris Building or Cemetery Fund or Central Inverness Palliative Care Society.

At this time we would like to thank the staff of Inverary Manor. With special thanks to the Oceanview Villa team whom Mom loved, and cherished the special friendships she had with each and everyone of you. She was always so grateful for your friendship.

We would also like to thank Dr. Raymond Lok, Dr. Siva Thanamayooran, Dr. John Ritter and Lori Ann MacDonald for the excellent care they provided.

Mom was the rock and matriarch of our family and we cannot imagine life without her. She will be forever loved. RIP Mom, until we meet again. Online condolences may be made to: www.invernessfuneralhome.com

I extend my sincere condolences on the passing of cousin Nin, whom I was so pleased to have met at her home a few years back. I remember how excited she was to hear from family members who were descendants of her Uncle Hector Mackinnon. I also had the pleasure of meeting her daughters Geraldine and Wilma. Unfortunately given the times and restrictions, I will be unable to travel to Inverness for the funeral service. All of Hector's children have passed on. Myself and a younger sister are his last surviving grandchildren from his 2nd youngest daughter and two more from his second eldest daughter.
I did call Nin a few times prior to her move to the Manor. she was always pleased to hear from me. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this troubled time. God bless and keep you strong.
Kindest regards,
Dennis and Marguerite Ryan
