Margaret, Christine and nieces and nephews:
You do not know us but Father Gussie was our Parish Priest At St. Anthony Danial in the early 70's. He was always so friendly, patient and a pleasure to talk to. An amazing priest. I spoke with him a couple of years ago and he remembered us and was so appreciative of the fact that I spoke to him. Please accept our condolences. God Bless.

My condolences to the family of Rev. MacLeod on his passing. My memory of Father Gus was when he served as our pastor at St. Gregory’s in New Glasgow and St. Ann’s in Thorburn . He would occasionally mention a little story about a place close to his heart called Mushaboom. He had a great sense of humour.
Father Gus played an important part in my personal life and was instrumental in my decision to marry my at the time live in partner of 7 years. I was faithful to going to mass but refrained from receiving the Holy Eucharist while living common law and Father Gus noticed and asked me what the problem was. My previous marriage had been annulled and I was hesitant to commit to another marriage. I am thankful to Father Gus for helping me make the right decision back in 1990 when he blessed my marriage to Jack who I am still happily married to. May Father Gus Rest In Peace. He has earned his heavenly reward.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Father Gussie's family.
We are grateful for our friendship with Fr. Gussie that began in Toronto when he was the Chaplain at the hospital where our son stayed. He shared his spiritual guidance and Cape Breton hospitality during our time there. We will cherish our special friendship that continued to this day with fond memories of laughter, stories and blessings.
