

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of Sara Ann Kennedy, announce her passing on November 29th, 2012, in Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Ann was born on July 26th, 1913 to the late Edward and Margaret (Mac Isaac) O’Connor. Ann was a member of Stella Maris Parish, Inverness, where she served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister for many years. A lady of great faith, she served in her ministries with honour, devotion and love. To Ann, faith and family were the greatest blessings in her life. Ann worked as a hairdresser for over 40 years. She loved her work and was known to many near and far for her talent and professionalism in this chosen field. Ann was a very creative and artistic person who lived and loved life to the fullest. After her retirement from hairdressing, Ann worked at the Inverary Manor where she cared for the aged with kindness, love and humour. Ann is survived by her daughters, Dolores (Jim) Thompson, Orleans, Ont.; Beverly (John) MacIsaac, Aylmer, Ont.; Sylvia (Robert) Kennedy, Toronto, Ont.; Ellen (Gerard) Mac Eachen, Inverness; Ann (Dale) Roddick, Lower Sackville; 13 grandchildre, 21 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband, Daniel David Kennedy, (December, 1988); her daughte, Gloria De Baie (May, 2012);, her brothers, Charlie and Hughie; sisters, Mary Ellen Mac Donald, Hughena Mac Eachern and Dorothy O’Connor. Ann was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Visitation will be held in Inverness Funeral Home on Sunday, December 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Monday, December 3 in Stella Maris Church, Inverness at 11 a.m. with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stella Maris Parish Building Fund, Inverness. We would like to thank Dr. Mark Bennett and Mary Anderson N. P. for their many years of care, friendship and love for our Mom. May God bless you both for your kindness.
