My first recollections of Alan are of the many times I had business dealings with him probably at least 15-20 years ago when I would go to his shop for car inspections and service. He always came across to me as a fair, honest hard working car mechanic that I had full confidence in. Then over 11 years ago we were both hired about the same time to drive school buses. Then I got to know him better on a daily basis as we showed up everyday of the school year to do our jobs. It was then I realized my earlier impressions of his work ethic and character were correct. Our 2 bus parking locations at the bus barn were next to each other so naturally I had many conversations with him. We also went on many out of town bus trips together and Alan was the kind of guy that made me feel confident that no matter what came up on those trips that I could count on Alan to have the knowledge and common sense to figure out the best solution. I will truly miss being around him to enjoy his friendship and that unique humor and smile. Paul Arrington
