

Bettye Hansen, 82 year resident of the Wichita Falls area, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Wichita Falls, Texas with Rev. Paul Goodrich and Rev. John Dillard officiating.
Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.
Bettye was born June 3, 1928 in Wichita Falls to Ernest and Estelle Revier Birk. She was a graduate of Iowa Park High School, received a BFA from Austin College, and her MFA from New Mexico Highlands University. She retired from the Wichita Falls Independent School District after teaching art for 20 years. Bettye was a two time president of the Wichita Falls Art Association and the Winsome Sunday School Class. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and sang in the Chancel Choir for over 38 years. Calvin and Bettye Hansen were married July 30, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Her life interests included travel, hiking, camping, painting, and other creative areas of art expression.
Her parents and step-mother, Mary Anna Birk, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin of Wichita Falls; children; Marian and Scott Jackson of Morgan Hill, California, Sharyl and Paul Landis of Tulsa, Oklahoma and David Hansen of Park City, Utah; grandchildren, Samantha and Christine Jackson; brother, Robert E. “Bob” Birk of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister and husband, Beverly and Gonzalo Matos of Fort Worth, Texas and several nephews and nieces.
The family would like to acknowledge the continued dedication and love of Penny Poncha, the staffs of the Presbyterian Manor House of Hope and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
