Billie Joyce Dowell

Billie was born August 23, 1931, in Wichita Falls, TX to Willie and Myrtle (Via) Bohannon. She married the love of her life Don E. Dowell January 17, 1948, and were married 50 years until his death in 1998. She was a homemaker for many years and worked at JC Penny for a brief time. As a child of the depression, she insisted on making sure everyone was fed and had clean clothes, as well as a clean house to live in. Her favorite things to do were baking, and later in life traveling and playing dominoes.

Preceded in death by her husband Don; daughter, Teresa Mannion; son, Brian Dowell; granddaughter, Kellie Eggleston.

Survivors include, son, Don L Dowell and wife Debbie of Keller, TX; daughter, Dee Matthews and husband John of Farmington, MO.; 3 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2-4 PM Sunday February 16, 2025, at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, TX. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, February 17, 2025, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, TX.
