Carrolia Faye (Holder) Lunney, 76, of Iowa Park went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park with Pastor Tim Franks officiating. Graveside services will follow at Hampton Vaughan Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.
Carol was born on February 16, 1942 in Eldorado, Oklahoma to George Newton holder and Ruby Pearl (Sain) Holder. She is a high school graduate Altus High School. She met and later married Richard (Dick) Lunney in Altus, Oklahoma on October 16 in 1959. Carol was a loving wife and mother and spent her life taking care of her family. She also loved crafts, attending family events and maintaining her “Christmas Village.” The village grew so big that it eventually became a popular field trip for elementary students from Kidwell Elementary.
One of her special joys was making and decorating themed birthday cakes for her grandkids and for Greg and Gail Miller’s boys who called her “Iowa Park Grandma.” Her crafts included embroidery, crochet, cross stitching and also making crocheted blankets for raffles for several charities.
Carol is preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Lunney; parents, George and Ruby Holder; two brothers, James and David Holder; sister, Freda Beals; and son, Robbie Lunney.
She is survived by two sons, Jeff Lunney; Michael Lunney and his wife, Jeannie Lunney; daughter Cindy Fulfer and her husband, Brian Fulfer; grandsons, Drew Fulfer and his wife, Sarah; Nick Fulfer and his wife, Sarah; and Austin Lunney and his wife, Brenna; great grandsons, Neziah Fulfer, Zade Fulfer, Braze Fulfer and one on the way, Grant Lunney. Carol is also survived by her sisters, Louise Dollins, Gloria Haas, Shirley Zachary and Camilla Stephens.
