Christine Marie Grussing, 76, of Iowa Park, Texas, formerly of Potomac, Illinois and Tavares, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2025.
Born on November 19, 1948, in Danville, Illinois, Christine spent much of her life in Illinois and Florida, ultimately settling in Texas for the past eight years to be near her daughter. Christine was a devoted mother, Nana, and great-grandma whose greatest joy was spending time with her family. Christine is survived by her children: Keith Bennett and wife, Michelle of Kearney, MO. Kevin Bennett and wife, Ashley of Bowling Green, KY and Kimberly Bryant and husband, JJ of Iowa Park, TX. Her beloved grandchildren: Jake, Amy, Jared, Jenna, Elly, Josie, and Reese and her three great grandchildren: Emery, Brock and Bennett.
She worked primarily in retail and retired early to enjoy a quieter life in Florida. Christine had a gift for creating a warm, welcoming home, and her love could be felt in every carefully tended plant and cozy room. She found joy in working in her yard and making her home a place where all felt loved and at peace.
Christine was preceded in death by her husbands, Gary Bennett and Raymond Grussing; her father, Hollis Abbott; and her mother, Beverly Abbott, brother- in- law David Hamilton, and grandson Jay Bennett. Her life was marked by a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ, which she carried with grace and strength through all of life’s seasons.
Graveside services will be held at Mann’s Chapel in Rossville, Illinois. A celebration of Christine’s life will be planned for a later date, where friends and family will gather to share memories and honor the incredible woman she was.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for every moment we had with you. You were our anchor, our safe place, and our greatest blessing.
Rest now in peace, surrounded by the love you gave so freely. We will carry you with us, always.
