

Claburne Edward Portwood Lindley, 82, Iowa Park, joined his Lord and Savior at 11:17 pm, Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016 at the Texoma Christian Care Center in Wichita Falls after previously suffering from a stroke on Dec. 1.
Clay was born Nov. 23, 1934 in Iowa Park, TX to Jeff and Agnes Lindley. Clay graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1952 where he excelled in sports and enjoyed participating in the Ag program. After High School Clay continued ROTC training, which led to being drafted in the U.S. ARMY, where he proudly served as a Staff Sargent until 1966. Clay spent over 40 years of his professional career in financial services at both TransAmerica and Windthorst National Bank in Holliday before retiring. Throughout every stage in life, Clay found time to spend on his beloved farm where he enjoyed raising livestock and keeping his garden.
Clay is Survived by Wife, Pat Lindley whom shared a 46 year marriage; 2 sons, Robert Lindley and Claburne Lindley; 2 daughter-n-laws, Kaylyn Lindley and Ashley Lindley; 4 Grandchildren, Courtney Kay Lindley, Robert Carson Lindley, Landen Taylor Lindley and Paisley Michelle Lindley; God Daughter, Grace Stutte, Sister, Jody Allen; Niece, Tammy Gibbons.
Services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday December 27, 2016 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, TX. Family will hold a private burial earlier that day. In respects to Clay’s wishes there will not be a viewing.
