

David was born in Electra, Texas as the only child of Mary Pearl and Earl Dodge. He graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1947 and went on to receive a degree in Vocational Agriculture from Texas Tech University in 1951.
In 1950, he married Peggy Stacks, who was the love of his life for 73 Years. They were blessed with 2 Children, David Wayne and Betsy Ann. David was also admired by his 7 grandchildren: Sarah Thompson, Shannon Enty (Corey), Amanda Libby (Ken), Erin Galler (Kyle), JT Thompson, David Brooks Dodge and Carson Patrick Dodge.”Granddaddy” was also loved by his 7 great-grandchildren James, Haddie, Logan, Isaac, Dodge, Ruby and Millie.
David spent 10 years at KFDX-TV in Wichita Falls. He then began a long and successful career in commercial film with programs such as the Herald of Truth. In 1977, he began working with the West Texas Rehabilitation Center and later filmed for Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. His film work allowed him to travel across the United States and several countries around the world. David was a life-long and faithful servant for the Church of Christ.
David is survived by his wife Peggy and his son David (Paige). He is preceded in death by his parents, Pearl and Earl and by his beloved daughter Betsy Thompson (Jay). We will miss his Granddaddy jokes, his smooth voice and his sweet hugs.
