

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 3:00pm at the Fairfield Inn & Suites, 1020 Central E Fwy, Wichita Falls, Texas, 76306.
Donald L. Craig was born in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jim Odell and Ruby Lee Barnes Craig on September 23, 1940. Don as he was better known by grew up in Wichita Falls and Burkburnett. In Burkburnett he met his future wife Judith Hofacket as well as his lifelong friend Gowdy Slack. Don married the love of his life Judith Hofacket on November 23, 1961 in Thornberry, TX. Don and Judy shared 50 years together before she passed in February of 2013.
Don attended college at UT Arlington and worked for Texas Electric for 20 years in Monahans and Odessa, TX. He spent many years working as a “land man” for several oil and gas companies in Texas and New Mexico.
He enjoyed cars and racing with his son Steve. A very talented woodworker, he made gifts for family and friends and refinishing furniture. He loved traveling, attending and participating in car shows, and driving his 2002 Convertible Thunderbird.
He will be remembered by selflessness, caring, dedicated, and loyal ways. He would go to any lengths necessary to assist his family and friends. He was the best dad ever, and a wonderful “Papa”.
Don is survived by his sister Barbara Jean Tucker of Pagosa Springs, CO; Daughters Kelly Christensen and husband Mike of Midland, TX; Danette Craig of Wichita Falls, TX. Grandsons Drew Christensen and wife Ashley; Kade Christensen and wife Cassidy; Kristopher Kwaramba. Granddaughters Dominique Wagoner; Danielle Kwaramba; and Desirea Kwaramba; and a Great Grandpapa of 2. He is also survived by his companion Sol Swerdlove; and his 4-legged companion Speckles.
He is preceded in passing by his son Steven Jim Craig; His wife Judith Ann Craig; Parents Ruby and Jim Craig; Sister Marilyn Hockey; Brother James Craig and his lifelong friend Gowdy Slack.
