

Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 1 at Bluegrove Cemetery in Bluegrove, Texas with Rev. Donald Crump officiating. Visitation from 4 PM to 8 PM on Thursday April 30 at Dutton Funeral Home at 300 E. Cash Street in Iowa Park, Texas.
Ellie was born August 15, 1924, in Burkburnett, TX, to Harry Donald Hampton and Cecilia Maude McDowell Hampton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iowa Park since 1966.
Ellie was predeceased by her parents; 3 husbands: George Lington, Joe Bell, and Bert Caddell; and 4 siblings: Donald, David, Glenn, and her sister Faith Crump. She was resilient in all things: her endurance, her patience, her health, her compassion. And she was always steadfast in her love for Christ.
While Ellie taught school for much of her life, she also served as a missionary in islands such as Guam, Palau, and Samoa. After retirement she also worked in a number of women shelters and outreach programs including Ganno Street Mission in Houston. She was always happiest when in the service of others.
Survivors include three sons, Christopher (Pat) Lington of Pasadena, Gerry (Robin) Lington of Murphy, and Dr. Evan (Dr. Deliss) Lington of Houston; 8 grandchildren; 14 Great-grandchildren; and 1Great-Great grandchild.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Stan Johnson Memorial Mission Fund at Waterbrook Bible Fellowship, 507 Thomas Street, Wylie, TX 75098 or your charity of choice.
