Dearest Loretta,
Bless your heart
It has been years but we never forget those who were so dear to our lives
Many memories were shared with your family and the McLemore family
Jerry has been in his Heavenly home 49 years
My prayers will be with you in the days ahead.
We can rejoice in death when we know the peace that belongs to them
after their earthly journey
Jerry and I had 3 sons. We left Wichita Falls 4 years after his death and moved to a farm
in East Texas. God has blessed our lives and guided us daily
My love, prayers and thoughts, Mary Ellen Roberts McLemore

Gary grew up a block from my Mother and Grandparents in Windom, Texas
After my parents married and moved to Wichita Falls Gary would help my Grandparents any time he was needed
I have known him forever and that has been a pleasure that I will not forget
He was a customer but more than that
Kind and friendly and a positive attitude
always. My sympathy to his family

Some of my best childhood memories include Gary and his large and loving family. Being an only child for eleven years I really enjoyed visiting the Chandler’s.
We graduated high school together in 1955 in Windom. Poor Gary was the only boy among eight girls. Such wonderful and happy years.
I am so saddened to hear this news. My love goes out to you all. You are in my prayers.

From 1981 until forever, I was so honored to work with (and sometimes for) Gary. He was one of the most honest and caring persons I have ever known. He truly loved his wife, Loretta (or, as my sister Becky Lee called her, Goretta) and all his family - and they all loved him. He was the very best "arguer" with my sister, Becky, who loved him very much. Everyone that ever met Gary loved him. I am pretty sure he is already fishing in Heaven with his friend, Slick Cook, and some of his other buddies. My heart is so heavy right now but I have asked God, our Heavenly Father, to comfort all of us who knew Gary. I have asked Him to especially watch over Loretta, Gayla, Lindy and families, and those who worked with Gary. And, I ask that He help us to rekindle all our wonderful memories we have with Gary. I know his grandkids can tell some big whoppers about things they did with him. Thank you, God, for hearing and answering our prayers. We will always love Gary and always like him, too. For no matter what, he was a real, true friend.

I remember what a sweet, sweet man Mr Chandler was to all of us teen-age girls traipsing in and out of the house, carpooling us to football games, etc. Just a really great family.

I worked with Gary from 1988 to 2018. When I started with Swanner properties I was eighteen years old and greener than green to the oil business, except for what I had seen as a child as I drove through the lease with my father on our way to go fishing at one of the stock tanks. When I started with Gary and his son Lindy, everything was a whatchamacallit, a whodunit, and a thingamajig. However, Gary was a great, informative and knowledgeable boss. As an eighteen year old, Gary was like a secondary father figure to me. My father told me when I started working in the oil field "to do what Gary says and Learn". I have tried to learn as much as I could and will say that Gary will be extremely missed by myself and all that knew him.
Sincerely, Chris Swanner
