Gilbert Louis Mueller

Gilbert Louis Mueller, 81, passed peacefully to heaven Tuesday, December 29, 2015 under the tender loving care of Hospice of Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church, Iowa Park, Texas with Rev. Glen Pearce, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas. Visitation will be held at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

Gilbert was born April 24, 1934 in Haskell, Texas to Richard and Esther (Matthytz) Mueller. He married Earlene Larance June 9, 1956 in Stamford, Texas. Gilbert served in the United States Navy in Sangley Point, Phillipines, Navy Reserves and Army National Guard. He retired as District Manager of Lone Star Gas Company after 40 years of employment. After retirement and into 2015, he enjoyed working at Parkway True Value in Iowa Park for 25 years. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, working at True Value and attending First Baptist Church in Iowa Park where he loyally served as a Deacon and teacher of the Men's Adult 5 Sunday School Class. Gilbert is preceded in death by his mother and father.

Surviving relatives include his wife Earlene; son, Mike Mueller and wife Donna of Phoenix, Arizona and daughter Michele Majewski and husband Steve of Iowa Park. Grandsons Keith Mueller and Chad Mueller of Phoenix, Arizona, granddaughters Amanda McCreary-Meyer and husband Brian and Amy McCreary all of Iowa Park; great granddaughters Gracelyn McCreary-Meyer and Madelyn Meyer of Iowa Park; sisters Joyce Berry of Memphis, Tennessee and Ernestine West of Los Gatos, California; sisters-in-law Betty Ivy and husband Ken, Helen Jennings and husband Art; brothers-in-law Bruce Larance and wife Peggy, and Lewis Larance and wife Rosy; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.
