Glenn Hershel Wilson

Mr. Wilson was born March 2, 1917 in Harrold, Texas to Asa Burlen Wilson and wife, Alice Corene (Burkhalter) Wilson. He married Lela Rae Houtchens December 4, 1936 in Electra. She preceded him in death February 6, 2009. He was a member of First Christian Church of Electra until it closed, at which time he became a member of First United Methodist Church. He retired from Texaco, Inc. as a plant operator. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, William Glenn Harris.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at First United Methodist Church of Electra with Rev. Bob Lee, pastor, officiating. Assisting will be Miles Graham of Wichita Falls, Texas. Interment will follow in Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park.

Survivors include daughter, Glenda Harris and husband Frank, of Wylie, Texas; son, Don and wife Wanda, of Montgomery, Texas; son, Freddie and wife Pat, of Midland, Texas; son, Larry and wife Marla, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; son, Ronnie and wife Betty, of Electra, Texas; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; brother, Howard Wilson, of Fort Worth, Texas; and brother, Dean Wilson, of Glendale, Arizona.

Visitation for family and friends will be a First United Methodist Church in Electra from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, April 30, 2010.
