Gregory L Neifert

Greg was born on August 11, 1954 to William and Lila Neifert in Sioux City, Iowa. An alumni of Iowa Park High School, Greg spent his life working in the lumber industry. He was an amazing brother, uncle and friend, and the kind of guy that would give you the shirt off of his back.

Greg’s passions included spending time with family, looking at old photographs and telling stories about days gone by. He was an avid sports fan, and in his younger days was a slugger in softball and could often be found at the Royal Flush throwing a mean game of darts. His love of sports included cheering on the Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys and his favorite Iowa Park Lady Hawks.

Greg is survived by sisters, Sandy Christmas of Iowa Park, Brenda Nesbitt and husband Neil of Wichita Falls; brothers, Roger Neifert and wife Sue of Des Moines, Iowa, Brad Wynn and wife Melonie of Iowa Park; nieces Stephanie Wooten, Brandi Villanueva, Lacy Lytle and Stormi Buckley; nephews, Billy Neifert, Jason Neifert, Josh Neifert, Randy Schmidt, Keith Wynn, Ryan Wynn, and Tyler Culipher; and many great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his sister Pam Wynn.

A memorial to celebrate Greg’s life will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at Pacific Avenue Baptist Church in Iowa Park with Tim Ewing officiating. The family request that you wear Cowboys, Long Horn or Iowa Park clothing to the service in memory of Greg.
