James Hogan

James Hogan, 59, of Kamay, Texas, passed away on June 28, 2026. Born February 26, 1967, in Wichita Falls, Texas, James was the son of Floyd and Betty Hogan and lived all of his life in Wichita County.

James spent most of his working life in the oil field, a path that suited his steady grit and tireless work ethic, and he later ended his career as a truck driver. In every season of his life, he was known as a man who spoke plainly and truthfully, met hard days head-on, and carried himself with a quiet fearlessness that others could count on. Even so, there was always room for a well-timed laugh—his humor had a way of easing the moment and bringing people together.

On November 27, 2000, he married Ladonna Brown. Together, they spent the next 25 years building a life and making memories with family and friends, shaping a home marked by loyalty, love, and the kind of everyday devotion that endures.

James loved hunting, fishing, stock cars, and watching NASCAR. He also took pride in the simple pleasure of feeding people well, and he was known for cooking the best catfish around—an honest, generous kind of comfort that will be remembered wherever stories are shared.

James is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Bear.

He leaves behind his wife, Ladonna; three sons, Josh Hogan and Danae Poore, Matthew and Kelsey Hogan, and Dalton and Nikki Hogan; four grandkids, Layton, Annabelle, Cali, and Tanner; three brothers, Jackie, Billy, and Jerry; one sister, Vickie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Hospice of Wichita Falls, the staff at Dr. Reddy's Office, and the pre-op department at United Regional Health Care.
