Jay Drake

Jay Drake, 75, passed away March 7, 2015, at his residence in Holliday, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Mankins Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Stubblefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.

Jay was born June 10, 1939 in Hackettstown, New Jersey to William Samuel and Weltha M. (Grube) Drake. He married Loretta Swafford on February 7, 1981 in Archer City, Texas. He had resided in the Holliday area since 1978 moving from Corpus Christi, Texas. He was a self-employed escort truck driver and a lifetime member of the Owner/Operators Trucking Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mariam "Marie" Canfield.

Survivors include his wife, Loretta of Holliday, Texas; children, Jay Edward Drake, Jr., Morrisville, North Carolina; Jeff W. Drake of Elgin, Oklahoma; Lloyd Pautsky of Huntsville, Texas; Jan Dyer of Holliday, Texas; and Bobby Pautsky of Chillicothe, Texas; siblings, Robert W. Drake of Vero Beach, Florida; Alice M. Waters, Hackettstown, New Jersey; Ernesta A. Drake of Mathis, West Virginia; 8 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
