Jeannie Frances Meggitt

Jeannie Frances Meggitt (née Moore), aged 81, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Born on October 9, 1944 in Torrance, California, she is remembered as a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend.

Jeannie attended Torrance High School before pursuing a career as a beautician, after graduating from Beautician School. Her professional journey included roles as a beautician, a stay-at-home mom, and later, she contributed her talents to the retail sector, working with Hallmark and Yankee Candle.

Throughout her life, Jeannie was passionate about various hobbies that reflected her artistic side and love for the outdoors. She enjoyed stainglass, toule painting, creating jewelry, gardening, playing volleyball, and engaging in various watersports.

Jeannie's family was the cornerstone of her life. She is survived by her son, Shawn Meggitt, and daughter-in-law, Ruta Meggitt, and Her Nephew Wayne Moore. Her extended family includes cousins who were like sisters to her: Judy Young, Vicki Benson, Micki Moody, Adrina Donnell, Tricia Howrey, Brenda Dowd, and Jenni Elliot. Her circle of friends, including Nancy Vanderberg, Annette O'Neil, Toni Sams, and Linda Johansen, will also miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Andrew Meggitt; her parents, Albert and Frances Moore; and her brother, Ronald Moore.

The visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, and the funeral service will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, both at Dutton Funeral Home, located at 300 E Cash St., Iowa Park, Texas 76367.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alz.org in memory of Jeannie, a cause close to her heart. Dutton Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
