Jo Ann York

She had three sisters: Bonnie Bishop, Becky Settles and husband Jim, and Judy Reid. She also had one brother, Jimmy Callaway and wife Linda. She graduated from Iowa Park High School in 1957 where she was very involved in sports. She played basketball, softball, volleyball, tennis, and participated in band. She was crowned prom queen, homecoming queen, and voted most beautiful.

Her sister tells about how they were also in a bike group. When her kids were young, she was able to stay home and take care of them. In her later years she worked as a teachers aide at City View. Her hobbies consisted of sewing and watching her kids and grandkids play sports.

She had a love for her dogs with one that broke her heart, Bear. She then had Charlie Brown, after that she got Benji and Honey whom she made salads for every night.

On December 4th, 1957 she married Freddie Joe York, son of R.L. and Marie York. Together they raised three wonderful children. Roger York, Chris and Tina York, and Renee Cunningham. They gave them 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 more great grandchildren on the way. Grandkids consisted of: Randy York, Jenny York, Chayce and Sean Bradshaw, Chance and Morgan York, Hayden and Melanie Branch, Alayna York, Ty and Dru Cunningham, Haidyn Cunningham, and Hailee Cunningham. Great Grandchildren are Peyton, Emma, Livia, Caden, Acelynn, Jackson, Hadlee, and Kaleigh.

JoAnn was very outgoing and friendly, she could visit with anyone for hours on end. She loved her family more than anyone could imagine. She was very selfless and was always placing others before herself.

A Visitation will be held at Dutton Funeral Home located at 300 E. Cash St. Iowa Park, Tx on May 10th from 6-8pm. A celebration of life will take place at the same venue on May 11th at 2:00pm
