

An angel was sent to heaven when our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Juanita Vermell Williams, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 5:55 pm in Electra Memorial Hospital.
Juanita was born on November 27, 1922 in Cooper, Texas, to Grover Jefferson and Zola Mae Williams. She had two sisters, Patsy Lou Crowder of Throckmorton, Texas and the late Wanda Louise Watts. She married the late Horace Raymond “Ray” Williams on October 27, 1939 in Walters, Oklahoma. Together they were blessed with four daughters, Barbara Williams Smith and husband, Leon of Torbert, Louisiana, Debbie Lou Williams Powell and husband, Bailey of Benbrook, Texas, the late Dora (Doddie) Williams Windham, and husband, the late Wilmer Windham, and the late Shirley Ray Williams. Her family grew to include 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and 12 grandchildren, who were Lonny Smith and spouse, Liz, and Ronny Smith and spouse, Kathy, the late Rhonda Guillory and spouse, Mike, Cindy Windham and spouse, Deannie Compton and David Windham and spouse, Pam, Sondra Thompson and spouse Troy, Nancy LeCoq and spouse, Chris, Susan Endicott, Sugar Reed and spouse, James, and Blake Powell and spouse, Tosha, Josh Powell and spouse, Shawne and Reuben Powell. Later her family would include 24 great grandchildren, Mike Guillory, Jennifer Cope, Ronny Smith, Lacy Hardy, Kerri LeJeune, Leon Guillory, Tommy Smith, Hayli Robertson, Chris LeCoq, Cameron LeCoq, Ashley Windham, Amanda Windham, Trenton Endicott, Dalton Endicott, Wesley Endicott, Chloe Reed, Riley Reed, Madison Powell, Savannah Powell, Jeorgonna Powell, Jaidyn Powell, Carter Powell, Alyiah Powell and Tristin Powell, and then 9 great-great grandchildren, Victoria Cope, Tye Robertson, D.J. Hardy, Annalysse Guillory, Cody Cope, Jude Guillory, Gunner LeJeune, Chloe Guillory and Coy Robertson..
She retired after many years of employment from White’s Auto where she enjoyed working with close friends Don and Judy Schram. She was a long time resident of Iowa Park where she could be found spending her days on her back patio while sharing precious memories with the people she cared about. She had many talents and enjoyed many activities such as sewing, decorating, cooking, and those days at the lake where she could be found water skiing. She would also find joy in dancing, shopping, and had a particular fondness of picking and shelling pecans.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 6 pm until 8 pm. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday July 17, 2013 at Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas. Pallbearers for the services will be Lonny Smith, Ronny “Bud” Smith, David Windham, Chris LeCoq, Ronny Smith and Rueben Powell. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery of Iowa Park.
The family of Ms. Williams would like to give a heartfelt thank you to Cheryl Smith, Susan Endicott, Sylvia Murphy, and Gary Williams for the love, kindness, and support they gave with all their heart. A special thanks to Dr. Thomas DeLizio for your friendship and faithfulness through the many years and also a thank you to the caring and loving nurses of Electra Memorial Hospital for their time and care.
