Lanetta Sue Franklin Owens

Lanetta Sue (Franklin) Owens, 70, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 in Wichita Falls. Memorial Services will be at 2 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Iowa Park with Dr. Jon Eckstein officiating. Graveside services will be held privately at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 27, 2013, from 6 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Sue was born March 11, 1943 in Wichita Falls to Morris Albert and Winnie (Kromer) Franklin. She was a 1961 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. She married James Mitchell Owens on April 5, 1963 in Wichita Falls. Sue was a member of First United Methodist Church of Iowa Park. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and the two joys of her life were her grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Helen Broyles; and brother, Dale Franklin.

Surviving relatives include her husband, James Mitchell Owens of Iowa Park; daughter, Jamie Riedt and her husband, Kyle of Iowa Park; two grandchildren, Brock Mitchell Riedt and Kyley Lanette Riedt, both of Iowa Park; two sisters, Jody Spinks and Winnie Mason, both of Wichita Falls; sister-in-law, Barbara Franklin of Wichita Falls.
