Larry Lynton Givens

We are here today celebrating the life of Larry Lynton Givens. He was the first child of Elmer W. Givens and Leona Margaret McClung born on July 21,1943 in Wichita Falls, Texas. He attended schools in Wichita and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1961. He attended Bethany Nazarene College in Bethany, Oklahoma where he met and married Barbara Clark in 1962. In their 26 year marriage they were blessed with 2 children, Shane Sinclair and Jennifer Deanne.

Larry was always an entrepreneur - owning western wear and furniture businesses, and even building rustic furniture in his later years. He lived more than 30 years in the Dallas area returning to Wichita Falls in 2024.

He is survived by his son Shane and his wife Brooke and their 3 daughters Emma, Grace, and Maggie; his daughter Jennifer Hicklin and her husband Ben; a sister Lana Wright; a brother Greg Givens and wife Teresa; and his aunts Patty Glover, Teresa Jameson, and Myrna Parrish.

He was very active at his retirement center playing 42 twice a week, and calling Bingo with his clear auctioneer voice. He loved singing his favorite western and gospel songs at their karaoke events. Everyone loved his beautiful baritone voice and now he can join the Heavenly Choir on high!
