

Larry Lee "Cotton” / “Pop" Thompson, aged 79, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Iowa Park. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, Larry was a cherished local figure known for his deep commitment to his family, faith, and community.
A graduate of Iowa Park High School, Larry was a great athlete, excelling in every sport he played. After high school, he honorably served in the Army, dedicating himself to the values of duty and service. Larry's career was varied and impactful, including positions at Thompson Tool Company, Washex, and as a Driver for IPCISD.
Larry was a devoted Christian and a long-time member of the Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park. His personal hobbies included fishing, hunting, golf, and most importantly, playing with his grandchildren, who brought immense joy and laughter to his life.
Larry is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Carol Ann Martin Thompson; his sisters, Cathy Uhren (David) and Marcia Kelly (Mike); his brother, Mark Thompson (Terry); his sons, Chad Thompson (Angie) and Cory Thompson (Kelley); and his cherished grandchildren, Marie Rodriguez, Addison Thompson, Braelyn Thompson, Avery Thompson, Cason Thompson, Cooper Thompson, and Kaycee Thompson. He is also survived by numerous nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Francis May Thompson and Lee Lavere Thompson, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Ellie Hope Thompson.
Services to celebrate Larry's life will be held on Wednesday, August 26th, at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa Park at 2:00 P.M.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Heart Association in Larry's memory.
