Leona Ethelyn Shelton Moore

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Tim Moore, son of Leona, officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home.

Leona was born March 26, 1917 in Lockney, Texas to Robert and Clara (Broyles) Shelton. She and Ottis “Babe” Moore were married March 26, 1938 in Lockney, Texas. Leona was a long time member of the Kamay Church of Christ and a 53 year resident of Valley View prior to moving to Wimberley where she lived for 11 years and was a member of the Wimberley Church of Christ. She was a private care nurse prior to her retirement.

Her parents, husband, four brothers, Euel, Bert, Vernon and Kyle Shelton and three sisters, Hazel Shelton, Jewel Ochsner and Leota Mosley preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Dale Moore and wife, Connie of Guthrie, Oklahoma, Gary Moore and wife, Georgia of Iowa Park, Judy Hutson and husband Lanny of Wimberley, Texas, Mary Jane Schmitt and husband, Richard of Fort Worth, Texas and Tim Moore and wife, Brooke of Wimberley, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 6 until 8 pm Monday, September 26, 2011 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel.
