Lonnie Ray Miller, aged 74, passed away on August 9, 2026, in Holliday, Texas. Born on August 6, 1952, in Ranger, Texas, Lonnie pursued a life enriched with passion for architecture and the serenity of the outdoors.
After graduating from Quanah High School, Lonnie continued his education at Sam Houston State University, where he earned a degree in Architecture. His academic pursuits led him to a distinguished career as a Master Cabinetmaker, a vocation where he his architectural knowledge with his artisanal skills to craft beautiful and functional pieces.
Lonnie was a man who cherished the outdoors. An avid hunter and golfer, he found peace and enjoyment in these activities, often accompanied by his beloved dogs. These interests were more than hobbies; they were integral parts of his life that brought him close to nature and offered him countless hours of relaxation and joy.
Family was the cornerstone of Lonnie's life. He is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; his son, Mark Miller and his wife, Lindsay; his daughter, Launa Gordy and her husband, Glen; and his grandchildren, Kelsey and her husband Landon, Tanner and his wife Danica, Amber and her husband Jacob, as well as grandsons Gavin and Logan. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren Zoey, Zayden, Emma, Jackson, Lainey, Mackenzie, Kade, Conner, Ryder, Drew and many nieces and nephews . Lonnie's siblings, Rhonda Miller, Lynn Daniel, and Mike Miller along with his wife, Devney, will fondly remember their brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Bernell Miller, his brother-in-law, Jim Daniel, and his great granddaughter, Tessa Gordy.
Lonnie's life will be celebrated with a viewing on Thursday, August 13, 2026, followed by a funeral service on Friday, August 14, 2026. Both services will be held under the caring guidance of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park, Texas.
Lonnie Ray Miller will be remembered as a devoted family man, a skilled craftsman, and a lover of the natural world. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched and the beautiful creations he left behind.
