

Born September 15, 1942 to O.G. “Jack” Crumpton and Catherine Derrick Crumpton, Michael was the middle child of five siblings. He proudly carried the name of his grandfather, Welzie Derrick.
Michael retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service. He had been a member of CWA Union and the Telephone Pioneers. He also had been a member of the Wichita County Young Farmers for several years.
Michael and Judy Evans married on June 2, 1962 and later had two sons, Derek Michael and Todd David. Most weekends were spent with family activities. They enjoyed many camping trips to Colorado and New Mexico and boating and camping at area lakes. After retirement, he and Judy enjoyed RV-ing, including buying and selling antiques and collectibles.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his son, Todd David Crumpton, and one brother, Jackie Crumpton.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Judy Evans Crumpton; son, Derek Michael Crumpton; Daughter-in-Love, Tracy Brown; two brothers, Larry Crumpton of San Antonio, Texas; and Jimmie Crumpton of Many, Louisiana; and one sister, Linda Coats of Holliday, Texas; grandchildren, Chase and Chelsey Wilson of Garland, Texas; special granddaughters, Kaytlyn and Carly Welch and Mikayla Welch Chester of Lubbock, Texas; many nieces and nephews and friends.
Our appreciation goes out to the CNAs and nurses at Texoma Christian Care Center for their care of Michael for the past four years, and to Hospice of Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Monday, September 21, 2015 at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM at Dutton Funeral Home on Sunday, September 20, 2015.
