Pauline was born to Steve and Janie Barker on April 10, 1927, near Vernon, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phil Mieir, four brothers and a precious granddaughter Kimberly Deuschle as well as one grandson John Rusk. She is survived by her son Johnny Reid of Iowa Park, daughter Carolyn Adams and husband Herbie of Electra, Teresa Martin of Bryan, TX, Reba Catlin and husband Steve of Iowa Park, and Yvonne Henderson and husband Max of Iowa Park, 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Doris Nell Reid and husband Melbourne of Wichita Falls.
Pauline would want you to know that she is rejoicing in His presence and that she lived a full and happy life doing what she loved the most. Her faith in the Lord always came first. She was active at Faith Baptist Church of Iowa Park where she had been a member for 45 years. She taught Sunday school for many years and participated in various activities.
She loved her family and enjoyed having lunch at her home every Friday for 40 years. Any given Friday might find 4 generations sharing food, conversations, love and wonderful memories.
She had a gift and a passion for helping others that was expressed through her love of being a nurse. Pauline traveled alone from Vernon, TX, to Long Island, NY, when she was just 17 years old. She promptly went to work at St. Joseph’s Hospital there. She worked in many other hospitals over the years until she finally worked in a private doctor’s office before retiring. She never stopped helping others and lived every day to the fullest.
Pauline loved to travel and often spoke of how she had enjoyed visiting all 50 states, Canada and Mexico.
She has now completed her journey and has reached her final destination where she will wait with joyful anticipation until we are all reunited. When you think of her, remember the laughter and the love that she gave and received. She loved well and was loved well in return. She will be missed.
