A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, December 15, 2020, Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas, with Rev. Gene Holley, Jr., pastor, officiating. Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home of Iowa Park, Texas.
Pearl was born December 20, 1937, in Hugo, Oklahoma. She married the love of her life, Monroe Bivens on October 19, 1953, in Paris, Texas. Pearl ran a daycare out of her home so she could stay home with her girls until they started school. Because of popular demand, she continued to operate the daycare until she decided to go to nursing school and become an LVN. She continued working in the medical field until her retirement. She had a genuine kind and giving heart and was a strong and hard-working devoted Christian who overcame a lot in her life with her faith in God. She was an amazing cook and loved being involved in cooking for her church. She had a great sense of humor that she mostly showed to her family. She would listen for hours, give amazing advice, and tell the same stories over and over when requested by her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by many, but has gone to her reward with an added bonus of being with her love.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe, parents, William “Elmer” Basham, Jessie Kitchens and step-father, Buck Kitchens. Two daughters Lou Ann Bivens and Elizabeth Diane Bivens and a sister, Carolyn Tyner.
Survivors include her daughters Sharon Bivens and Sherry Marchbanks and husband David; grandchildren Lauren Blankinship and husband Bo. Simeon Marchbanks and Dawson Marchbanks. Great grandson Roman “Lil Bo” Blankinship; two brothers William Basham and Charles Basham and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to Life Church, 4350 Seymour Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas. 76309.
