

Rebecca (Becky) Hartley Windhorst, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, age 73, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of Wichita Falls on Sunday, April 27. She was a resident of Iowa Park, Texas.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Robert, and her children Carolyn Augustine (Nathan), Kelly King (Robert), and Richard Windhorst (Stacy). Becky is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Veronica, Garrett, Rhiannon, Zane, Evie, Ezra, Ryelynn, Raidyn, and Rebekah. She is also survived by her brother Marvin Hartley (Kathy). Becky was predeceased by her parents Reta Eldredge Frazier and Joseph Lawrence Hartley, and 8 of her 9 siblings.
Becky was born on December 11, 1951, in Park City, Utah and married Robert Jean Windhorst On March 18, 1972 in Clinton, Utah. They were committed life companions and spent the next 53 years together.
A woman of action, Becky excelled in sports in her youth, playing baseball and softball, and walking her dogs during later years. Her talents extended into the kitchen, where she was a gifted cook. During her time in RAF Lakenheath, England, she won a competition for AAFES, proudly representing her region in a beefeater costume. The “Becky Burger,” a testament to her creativity, was featured in AAFES restaurants for a year. Becky’s homemade candy trays became a yearly holiday tradition, eagerly anticipated by friends and family.
In 2021 Becky was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease after a long struggle with heart related illness. She bore up under these challenges with grace, patience, humor, and a signature resilience that astonished everyone.
A graveside service for Rebecca will be held Thursday, May 1, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Highland Cemetery, 826 Rogers Rd, Iowa Park, Texas 76367.
