

Rick Scott, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on May 29, 1966, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Rick was a man who embodied the spirit of family and community.
Rick was the cherished son of Frankie Rutledge and Donald Scott, both of whom preceded him in death, as did his beloved sister Toni Lynn. He is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Scott, with whom he shared a beautiful marriage since January 30, 2011. Together, they built a family that was his pride and joy.
Rick's heart was full with the love of his daughters and their spouses, Courtney and Houston Slaughter of Iowa Park, Brittny and Matthew Webb of Grove City, and Josie and Dallas Slaughter of Iowa Park. As well as his step son, Nathaniel Nahquaddy of Riverton, UT. He was the adored grandfather of eight wonderful grandchildren: Eden, Lyla, Kiley, Wesley, Kinleigh, Whitley, Allyson, and Lane. He also leaves behind his brothers, Gary and Steve Scott, and his sister Debbie, along with her husband Eddie Garcia and his step father Tony Rutledge. His extended family includes numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Rick's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of faith, family, and friendship. He was a man of his word, a steadfast presence who could be counted on in times of need, whether for practical assistance or emotional support. His sense of humor and ability to bring a smile to those around him were unmatched, and he had a unique talent for making anyone feel at ease with his warmth and good cheer.
Rick had an array of interests that enriched his life and those of his loved ones. He found joy in taking his grandchildren out on the lake, where laughter echoed across the water. His passion for working on old cars was a testament to his patience and skill, and his love for playing the guitar brought music to the hearts of his family and friends. Known for smoking the finest brisket in Texas, Rick's culinary skills were celebrated by all who gathered at his table.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Lakeview Church, 1408 N Victoria Ave, Iowa Park, TX, on July 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A service to honor Rick's life will be held on July 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Lakeview Church, located at 1408 N Victoria Ave, Iowa Park, TX, 76367.
