Ruth Marie Whitton

Ruth Marie (Haney) Whitton, 88, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 in Iowa Park. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 11 AM at the Highland Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Dennis Neal officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Dutton Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Ruth was born January 24, 1926 in Valley View, Texas to Robert Ray and Dora Frances (Bohannon) Haney. She loved to work and worked many jobs throughout her lifetime. She loved gardening and was an avid bird feeder. She loved her family dearly.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Oren Hamilton, husband, Leo Whitton; son, Oren Ray Hamilton; siblings, Robert Bruce Haney, Ruby Haney, Clifford Haney, Lois Frances Haney, and Billie Rachel Haney.

Surviving relatives include three children, Carolyn Marie (Williams) West of Springtown, Texas; James C. Williams and his wife, Sue of Iowa Park; and Beatrice A. Kennedy and her husband, Randy of Mineral Wells, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
