Vernon was known to always have a smile on his face and a strong love for the Lord. He was a humble man who was very generous with his time. He provided well for his family and was a true example of what hard work looked like. He learned the ropes working in the oil field with his father at the West Company for 35 + years until his retirement. He was always humming a song and a fan of wrestling. He knew all the wrestlers by name.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sherry (Maness) Tepfer. He had a loving and dedicated hand in raising so many children who were related to him by blood and by love—his daughter Kelley (Tepfer) Mussachio, husband Matt, and son Tyler of Ardmore, OK; daughter Sandra Lane, and her daughters, Macie, Madelynn and Mallory, of Wichita Falls, TX; daughter Robin (Lane) Hendren, husband, Jason, and children, Jaeden and Reagan of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Donna Tepfer; sons, Curtis and Gary Tepfer, of San Antonio, TX; and brother, Larry Tepfer, and wife, Chris, of Azle, TX.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara (Tepfer) Moore, of Iowa Park, TX. He was loved by so many nieces, nephews, and he was especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his CUZ CLUB.
Vernon was a prankster and never stopped giving his hospice nurses a hard time. His smile was the first thing everyone noticed and what he will be remembered for.
