William "Bill(y)" Eric Garcia, a gentle, hard-working, patient, and humorous soul, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Wichita Falls, Texas, at Bethania Hospital on December 14, 1959, to Jorge Guillermo Garcia and Febe Gomez Garcia. Bill, affectionately known as "Pops" by his grandchildren, led a life full of love and laughter.
Bill graduated from Wichita Falls High School and embarked on a successful career as a machinist, working with companies such as Howmet, Tranter, and Pratt Whitney. His dedication and work ethic were evident throughout his career.
He was previously married to Joni Deffenbaugh, with whom he had two daughters, Jayla and Mandy. On March 2, 1996, Bill married Opal Manley, and together they welcomed their son, Eric, into the world. Bill cherished his family deeply and was a beloved daddy and husband.
In his personal life, Bill had a passion for gardening and plants. He enjoyed playing softball, participating in a bowling league, and spending time at the lake. Known for his sweet tooth, he always had candy in his pocket for his beloved grandchildren and himself. He was also an enthusiastic cook, especially known for his Christmas enchiladas. A devoted sports fan, Bill cheered for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Stars.
Bill was an active member of the Word of Grace Church in Iowa Park, Texas. His community involvement and faith were integral parts of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife, Opal Garcia; his daughters, Jayla Ingersoll (Jeffery Ingersoll) and Mandy Golladay (Jeremy Golladay); his son, Eric Garcia; his sister, Yvonne Spence (Mike Spence); his brother, Carlos Garcia; his grandchildren, Rylee Ingersoll, Easton Ingersoll, Harper Ingersoll, Tyler Golladay, Kolby Golladay, and Avery Golladay; sister-in-law Mary Boswell (Justin Boswell), aunt Elvita Interial, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jorge Guillermo Garcia and Febe Gomez Garcia, and his sister, Aileen Garcia.
Visitation will be held on February 4, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Dutton Funeral Home, located at 300 E Cash St, Iowa Park, Texas, 76367. A church funeral service will take place at Faith Baptist Church, located at 411 S Wall St, Iowa Park, Texas, on February 5, 2026, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, US-70, Randlett, OK, at 2:00 pm.
