Born in Hermiston, Oregon on June 17, 1958, he was the son of the late Col. (ret) Allen Crosby and Rose Anne Livingston. During his father’s military career, the family moved often, but Crosby was effortlessly able to make friends wherever he went. He often remarked how fortunate he was to spend all 4 years at Morris Knolls High School in New Jersey, where he participated in track and field, wrestling, and football.
A proud 2nd generation Clemson University alumnus, Crosby earned his degree in zoology in 1980, before pursuing a dental degree at the Medical University of South Carolina, where he graduated in 1985. Over his 38-year career, he honed his craft through constant continuing education and received numerous accolades through the organizations in which he participated. He developed extraordinary relationships with both his patients and team, which laid the groundwork for trusting, compassionate care. Crosby showed his faith in action by providing pro-bono services to families in need and openly shared the positive impact his faith offered him. He retired in December 2023, leaving his dental practice in the hands of his daughter.
Crosby met his beloved wife, Bonnie, while training in Charleston. They married on May 9, 1987, in Columbia, SC, and were blessed with four children. They enjoyed life’s adventures together. Some of their happiest moments were spent at their lake house, boating, grilling, and celebrating special occasions with family.
Crosby’s hobbies included hunting, golf, live music, and playing guitar. He will be remembered for his warmth, his passion for life, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Bonnie Livingston, and their four children, A. Crosby Livingston, III (Laura), Maggie L. Phillips (Dean), Kate Prevost (Ryan), and Mariclaire Livingston. He was a one of a kind “Pappy” to his four grandchildren, Charlotte, Crosby IV, Cecilia, and Lillian, who brought so much joy to his life. He was the second-born of four children, and is survived by Teresa Atkins (Crawford), Lisa. A. Hayes, and Flynn T. Livingston (Amee).
