

A Memorial Service for Aileen D. Putman will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in the Chapel of Union United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Aileen was born in Gastonia, NC to the late William and Grace Dees, but raised in Clinton, SC. She was a graduate of Clinton High School where she was crowned beauty queen her senior year. After graduation, she attended Furman University and found the love of her life, the late Robert W. Putman. They were happily married for 55 years. As a young adult, Aileen was a legal secretary but her most meaningful job was being a wife and mother to her two children, Fred Putman and Robin Landers. She loved people, believed in her faith and generously gave of her time as a volunteer. Aileen and her husband enjoyed dancing and belonged to two dance clubs for more than 15 years in Greenville, SC. In 1980, they moved to Houston, Texas where they spent 31 years.
She is survived by her sister, Dottie Richey; both of her children and their spouses, Fred and Colleen Putman and Robin and Richard Landers; granddaughters and their husbands, Kathryn and Brad Valdes and Jennifer and Tradd Bazemore; great grandchildren, Gabriella, Eva and Max Valdes.
