

COLUMBIA - Annalyn Lyles Elkins, 90, of Columbia, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016. Born March 25, 1925, in Madison, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Walker Lyles and Pauline Mongold Lyles. A 1945 graduate of Winthrop College, she was a former home-economics teacher in the Seneca, SC school system, a member of the Honeysuckle Garden Club, a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church, Sherwood Baptist Church, and St. Andrews Baptist Church. She was a proud alumna of Winthrop College and treasured life-long friendships with a small group of fellow alumnae. Survivors include daughters, Pam Harris Johnson, Pauline Elkins Edwards (Mac), Janice Elkins Gaillard (Michael); son, James Davis Elkins, Jr. (Frances); seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, William Clifton Lyles of Easley. She was predeceased by her first husband, John William Harris and second husband, James Davis Elkins, Sr.; brother, Jack Bryan Lyles; daughter, Barbara Elkins Seckinger; and granddaughter, Candace Elkins Meetz. The family would like to thank the employees of Carolina Gardens Lexington and Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital for their care and concern. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Bush River Memorial Gardens.
