Life has to end but love doesn't. Betty is survived by her daughters, Susan Mitchell, Brenda "Cookie" Heppner (Warner), and Janice James (Larry); her wonderful grandchildren, Chris, Veronica, Jessica and Jonathan and their children. Betty also leaves her loving baby sister, Marie and her nieces and nephews (she loved every one of them).
Betty had a love for life and much of it was unconventional. Being around her was not dull.
After retiring, Betty moved to the Carolina Apartments where she lived for 23 years. The residents were her second family and she had a deep bond with them. Betty loved going to and singing in church. She normally sat near the back because she could not carry a tune.
We are honoring Betty's request of no services. She had a love for the Bayview Baptist Church and the congregants. She even made sure her tithes were paid while in skilled care. One way to honor her memory is to make a donation in memory of Betty Boyles to Bayview Baptist Church, 5300 Two Notch Road, Columbia, SC 29204.
We would like to thank Heartland for their compassionate care.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
