Betty Jo Pruett

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Betty Jo Pruett. She went home to her heavenly Father on November 17, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on January 10, 1941, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, Betty Jo lived a life filled with love, kindness, and selflessness.

Betty Jo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and was a pillar of strength to all who knew her. Her passions included needlework, baking, reading, and socializing with her friends. Her generosity and warm spirit touched the lives of many.

Betty Jo’s devotion to the Lord was lifelong, and she was a member of Lake Murray Presbyterian Church for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Margaret Hyatt, and her beloved husband of 54 years, Mack Pruett.

Betty Jo is survived by her children, Cindy Watson (Larry) and Jeff Pruett (Lisa), her grandsons, Ryan Watson (Maegan) and Justin Watson, her precious great-grandsons, Lukas and Jaxson Watson, her sisters, Vicki Johnson (Bob) and Freda Keisler (Allen), and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 am at Lake Murray Presbyterian Church in Chapin, SC. Friends will be received after the service in the sanctuary . Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Betty Jo’s beautiful life.
