Funeral Service for Billy Luther Sox, 85, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Salem United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the churchyard. The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
Mr. Sox passed away Friday, July 6, 2018. Born on July 11, 1932, in Lexington County, he was a son of the late Luther M. and Mary Sox. He was the husband of the late Patricia Weed Sox. Mr. Sox was a member of Salem UMC. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Scottish Rite and Jamil Temple as well as the Boyleston Masonic Lodge #123 and a Charter Member of the Ballentine Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Sox retired from Smith Rubber Stamps following 40 years of service.
Surviving is his only daughter, LuAnne Clements (Steve); grandchildren, Louis Clements, Stephanie Clements; brothers, Thomas Sox (Bobbie), Roy Sox (Seretha), Larry Sox (Charlene), Allen Sox (Alice); sisters, Joyce Smith (David), Jane Amaker, and Carol Sox. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John Sox, Charles Sox; and two sisters, Meb Arnold and Grace Hannah.
