I've just heard about your passing. RIP Bruce...You were a wonderful man with a big heart. I'm so glad our paths crossed years ago working at Daley. God gained a special Angel. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Uncle Bruce, you will be so missed. You were the best uncle any girl could ask for. You always managed to make us all laugh and smile. You were truly one of the most inspirational people I've ever been blessed to have in my life. I thank the Lord for the memories we shared together.

Few women are lucky enough to have a male best friend..someone who affects their life and is a part of it for more than fifty years. Bruce was that friend to me.
Growing up in  Greenville in simpler times where sitting on a stone wall on a summer night with your neighborhood buddies was all the excitement one needed, I was lucky enough to have made a life long friend in a boy who always knew me better than I knew myself. I could always count on Bruce with his easy smile and contagious laugh to understand my dilemmas and make them so much easier to face. He was easy going, friendly, funny, smart ( a Jr. Marshall, right Patty?)and trustworthy. His was the friendship that remained intact no matter where life took us or how far apart we were. He was special and I loved him. Although the last years of his life were riddled with obstacles and health issues, he fought them bravely and with determination.  Only those who travel it, know the difficult road of a caregiver, but Patty certainly made the journey with love, compassion and grace. We must think of the better place with no more pain or suffering for those who have fought and lost  the battle with cancer. I feel sure that Bruce and my Steve have already lined up a foursome in heaven. 
Peace and understanding in the days to come to all of those Bruce leaves behind. He will  be missed but forever loved and in my heart,

My Dear Patty, When my father died 11 years after his stroke my mother and I found great comfort in this song. I hope it brings you the same comfort to know God's word promises that in a "twinkle of an eye" Bruce "has finally arrived and the healing that had been delayed has now been realized." I pray this song helps you visualize Bruce" enjoying Jesus just sitting at His feet." Just think, right now Bruce is "walking streets of gold, he's standing tall and whole, all of his pain has been erased because he's seen Jesus' face!" My sweet Patty, the next time you see Bruce I know he'll give you that big smile and hug just like in all those pictures and I think the next thing you guys will do is start shagging on those streets of gold!
