After a valiant fight where his strength of will surpassed all expectations, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, Chadwick Troy Mohon went home to his Lord and Savior, passing peacefully while surrounded by his family. Chad was born on February 20, 1972 in Jackson, Mississippi to Troy and Earlene Mohon. He met his beloved wife, Judy Braswell Mohon, in 2000 and they were married on December 14, 2002. They have two children, William, 20 and Caroline, 17.
Chad’s legacy lives on through his wife and children; his brother, David Mohon (Kristin) of Birmingham, AL and nephews Kyle and Andrew; his father-in-law, Jack Braswell (Nancy) of Columbia, SC; his sister-in-law, Buffy Mayer (Eric) of Newberry, SC and niece, Molly Endredi (David), great nephew, Guy and nephew, John Eric Mayer. He was predeceased by his parents Robert Troy Mohon and Earlene Mann Mohon.
Growing up in Birmingham, AL, Chad attended Mountain Brook High School, where he was a standout on the football and wrestling teams. He graduated from Auburn University in 1997, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Marketing. Chad spent 29 years as a respected leader in the dental equipment industry, beginning his career with KaVo Dental and ultimately serving for 20 years with A-DEC as Territory Manager for South Carolina and parts of Georgia and North Carolina. He earned the admiration of customers, dealers, and colleagues alike through his exceptional business acumen, unwavering integrity, unmatched work ethic, and relentless pursuit of excellence. More than his professional accomplishments, Chad was known for the genuine relationships he built and the trust he inspired in everyone who had the privilege of working with him.
Having achieved the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout, Chad was an accomplished camper and outdoorsman who found joy in camping, boating, sitting by his firepit, and spending time in God’s creation. He unapologetically prioritized his roles as husband and father above all else. He delighted in watching his children excel academically and athletically, spending countless hours cheering them on at swim meets, competitive cheer competitions, and every other activity that mattered to them. Chad had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel like family. He loved his children’s friends as if they were his own, welcoming them with open arms, encouraging them, cheering them on, and making each one feel at home. Chad’s life centered around three unwavering priorities: his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family, and his love of the outdoors. His happiest moments were those that combined all three - family vacations, days on the lake, camping adventures, and treasured time at Camp McCall, where faith, fellowship, and nature came together.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Chad’s doctors, nurses, techs and caregivers at South Carolina Oncology Associates, MD Anderson, Prisma Baptist Parkridge/Richland who compassionately cared for Chad throughout his courageous journey with cancer.
Chad will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who were blessed to know him. Yet we do not grieve without hope. We rejoice in the promise that, through his faith in Jesus Christ, Chad is completely healed and now walks the streets of gold in the presence of his Savior. We praise God for the assurance that this goodbye is only temporary, and we look forward to the glorious day when we will see him again.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverland Hills Baptist Church of Irmo on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends following the service in the church atrium, with a private burial to follow.
