Mr. Charles Edward Derrick

COLUMBIA Funeral services for Charles Edward Derrick, 70, will be held at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church, with visitation at the church from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo is assisting the family. Mr. Derrick, husband of the late Rose McEntire Derrick, died Friday, September 12, 2014 at Palmetto Health Richland Memorial Hospital. Born in Columbia on November 9, 1943, he was the son of Elizabeth Mason Derrick and the late Roland Malcolm Derrick. He retired from the Department of Corrections and was a member of St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. He was a devoted son, father, grandfather and brother. Surviving are his mother of Columbia; sons, James P. Nash Jr. (Michelle) and Jeffrey M. Nash (Courtney); his only granddaughter, Haile Paige Nash; brother, David Alan Derrick (Donna), their daughter, Leanna Pallach (Brian) and their daughter, Ryleigh Pallach; brother, Gary Thomas Derrick (Candy) and their sons, Heath Derrick and Hayden Derrick; and family friends, Melissa McCoy and Carla Ray.
