COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Chester J. Zondlewski, 74, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, with burial in the church memorial gardens. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, Irmo, is assisting the family.
Mr. Zondlewski passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. Born in Newark, New Jersey, he was a son of the late Chester Vincent Zondlewski and Anna Szpara Zondlewski.
While serving four years in the U.S. Navy, Chet met his soulmate, Rosanne, and they recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Chet and Rosanne found their greatest commonality in their shared hope and faith in Jesus Christ and in the Catholic Church. Chet worked for Western Electric while living in New Jersey, and later for Trane Industries in Blythewood, S.C. He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lexington, S.C. In Chet’s spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, fishing, hunting, target shooting, and modifying anything just to work exactly as he wanted it.
Surviving are his wife, Rosanne Zondlewski of Columbia; two daughters, Jeanette Shelley (Jeff) and Renee Ackerman (Guy); four grandchildren, Carson, Connor, Cole, and Caitlin; and brother, Michael Zondlewski (Kathleen).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Donald Zondlewski and Joseph Zondlewski (surviving wife, Veronica).
In lieu of flowers, a donation in his honor can be made to the American Cancer Society https://donate3.cancer.org/?campaign=search&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIjeuT57iX_AIVDcqGCh1ZoAxAEAAYASAAEgJyUfD_BwE
