A memorial service for Rev. Dr. Dalton L. Ward, Sr., 91, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at St. Andrews Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service. Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, is assisting the family.
Mr. Ward passed away Friday, November 23, 2018. Born in Aynor, SC, he was a son of Julius Monroe Ward and Katie Booth Ward. He was the beloved husband of Marjory Goldfinch Ward. Mr. Ward was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 69 years, Marjory, are her children, daughter Nancy Ward Owen (Dale), Richard F. Ward (Amy), Dalton L. Ward, Jr., David A. Ward (Dale), Charles S. Ward (Cheryl); grandchildren, Andrew, Dylan, Cliff, Libby, Anna, Kaci, Clay, Jordan; great-grandchildren, Miles, and Jonah. He is also survived by a sister, Betty Ward Harding and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Colin Ward; brothers, James Ward, Edsel Ward. Tommy Ward, Dugan Ward; and sister, Pat Ward Burton.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Mission offering through one’s local Baptist church.
