Deborah F. Christian

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Deborah F. Christian, 70, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 13 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Christian passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late John F. Furey and Elizabeth Ann Swann Furey. Deborah served as majorette at Hapeville High School in Georgia. She worked for Southern Bell for 20 years until she retired. An avid bowler, she competed in the Southern Ladies Class Bowling Tournament and bowled a perfect game during league. She started and ran the Southern Ladies Classic and was inducted to the Women's Bowling Hall of Fame. Deborah loved spending time with family and friends, whether it is celebrating July 4th by having a party each year at her home, or never missing her son’s football practice or games. In her spare time, she loved painting pictures, ceramics, and gardening.

Surviving are her son, Michael Orr of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Hunter Christian Orr, and Mikayla Isabelle Orr, both of Columbia, SC; and sisters, Patricia Furey of Lexington, SC and Sally Honea of Griffin, GA.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Larry F. Christian, and sister, Constance Picket.
